St John's school and limited section of Eleanor Street receive letter informing residents that an access road will be built through land at 41 Eleanor Street, forming the sole entry and exit point for the new car park.
30 August 2013
Some Eleanor Street residents who contacted Council are placed on an email list, and are informed this day of a works schedule with work on the access road commencing 2 September 2013.
9 September 2013
13 Eleanor Street residents, including the school principal, two teachers and one parent from St John's Primary School, attend a meeting with Maribyrnong Council (3 Council representatives in attendance). Key requests:
* To halt further works until appropriate and meaningful consultation with the street had taken place.
--> Council did not agree to this.
* To move access point to Gordon Street via the existing entrance or to consider alternative options.
--> Council did not agree to this.
12 September 2013
Eleanor Street residents' meeting held at St John's School.
16 September 2013
Second meeting held with Maribyrnong Council. Safety study agreed to be supplied. However, Council would not agree to halt works, only to explore pushing them to later in November...but they are still going ahead.
